C&G Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA)

Course Details

This qualification is designed for electricians who have spent at least 5 years working in the electrical industry but have not completed an electrotechnical apprenticeship or achieved a relevant level 3 NVQ qualification.

Upon completion of the Experienced Worker Assessment and the AM2 end point assessment, candidates may apply for an ECS gold card and may apply for Qualified Supervisor (QS) status with an approved competent persons scheme.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this qualification candidates must have the following.

  • At least 5 years industry experience
  • Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) or equivalent*
  • C&G 2382-22 18th Edition (BS7671:2022)

  • C&G 2391-52 Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations

 

*Candidates may be eligable to undertake the EWA Entry Test, further details can be found here.

£1,800 (£2,160 incl VAT)

The six performance modules are to be assessed using a range of methods. The qualification typically takes between 6-12 months and must be completed within 18 months

The Experienced Worker Assessment is not a shortcut to becoming a qualified electrician. It is designed for time served electricians to achieve a formal qualification and gain recognition of their knowledge of the required industry standards

What to expect.

You will need to complete a Skills Scan initial assessment which will indicate your prior depth of knowledge, skills and experience.

You will be observed during a minimum of two site visits where our assessor will assist you in gathering the required work based evidence for your portfolio.

Once you have gained the Experienced Worker qualification, you will be required to undertake the AM2E at an independent NET centre. Following this, your Experienced Worker Assessment will be complete.

Your progress during the Experienced Worker qualification is assessed through a portfolio of work based evidence, site visits and professional discussion with your assessor.
