C&G 2923-34 Level 3 Award in Electrical Energy Storage Installations

Course Details

The City and Guilds EESS course is designed for qualified electricians who wish to enter in to the renewables sector. On this course you will gain the knowledge needed to design, install and commission small scale electrical energy storage systems.

Available as a standalone qualification, candidates can also take advantage of our course bundle which includes the C&G 2922-34 Level 3 Award in Solar PV Installation.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course candidates must have one of the following qualifications.

A current Installation, Maintenance or Domestic Electrician ECS Gold Card or any of the following:

  • C&G 5393 Electrotechnical in Dwellings

  • C&G 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical (installation or maintenance

  • C&G 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing  Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (buildings, structures and the environment)

  • C&G 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification

  • C&G 2347 Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification

Who Should Take This Course

This EESS course is for qualified electricians wishing to gain the necessary skills required to design, install, and maintain electrical energy storage systems.

Fundamental Modules

  • Understand the key documentation and legislation in relation to design and installation of electrical energy storage systems (EESS)

  • Understand the characteristics of EESS, components and configurations

  • Understand design and installation considerations for domestic and small commercial EESS

  • Carrying out safe isolation, inspection, testing, and commissioning procedures.

  • Understand the use of micro-generation and EESS as part of prosumer’s installations

The C&G 2923-34 Level 3 Award in Electrical Energy Storage Installations is a CPD course for those who wish to develop their skills and experience within the renewable energy field. This course looks at the current industry regulations in a greater depth whilst promoting advanced electrical safety when working on energy storage systems
